Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (2 days)
In an average group of thirty children and young people, seven are likely to have been bullied, six may be self-harming and one could have experienced the death of a parent. This training will give you the skills and confidence to step in, offer first aid and guide children and young people (aged 8 – 18 years) in distress towards the support they need.
Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Youth Mental Health First Aid action plan. This sensitive and interactive training programme is delivered by highly experienced Registered Nurses who combine real life experience with evidence based practice.
Training covers:
Session 1: Youth Mental Health First Aid
Session 2: Depression and anxiety
Session 3: Suicide
Psychosis
Session 4: Self-harm and eating disorders
