In an average group of thirty children and young people, seven are likely to have been bullied, six may be self-harming, and one could have experienced the death of a parent. This training will give you the skills and confidence to step in, offer first aid and guide children and young people (aged 8 – 18 years) in distress towards the support they need.
Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Youth Mental Health First Aid action plan. This sensitive and interactive training programme is delivered by highly experienced Registered Nurses who combine real life experience with evidence based practice.
Training covers:
Session 1: Youth Mental Health First Aid
Session 2: Depression and anxiety
Session 3: Suicide
Psychosis
Session 4: Self-harm and eating disorders
A Youth Mental Health First Aid Certificate is awarded on completion of the course and delegates will also receive a comprehensive Youth MHFA manual which acts as an excellent reference and support resource.
The training can be delivered at your venue or virtually, face-to-face, on a date and time that suits you.
The cost is £2,495 + VAT for groups of up to 16 staff.
