Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) Training Course
Our Paediatric First Aid training is suitable for nursery and school staff who interact with children in the early years foundation stage (under 5 years) and is in line with EYFS (2025) and Ofsted regulatory requirements.
You can choose between a 2-day face-to-face training or the blended learning option, which includes 1 day of focused practical training with a 4-6 hour fully interactive E-learning module featuring videos, interactive diagrams, and mini-quizzes.
Course syllabus includes:
Day 1
- Assessing an emergency situation and prioritising action
- Helping an unresponsive and breathing child or baby
- Helping an unresponsive and not breathing child or baby
- Helping a child or baby who is having a seizure
- Helping a child or baby who is choking
- Helping a child or baby who is bleeding
- Administering First Aid to a child or baby with bites, stings, grazes, bumps and bruises, and nose bleeds
- Recognising and dealing with shock caused by severe blood loss
- Anaphylaxis and allergy awareness
Day 2 (face-to-face or completed as an E-learning module)
Helping a child or baby with:
- Electric shock
- Burns or scalds
- Suspected fracture
- Head, neck or back injuries
- Suspected poisoning
- A foreign body in their eyes, ears or nose
- An eye injury
- With a bite or sting
- Effects of extreme heat or cold
- A diabetic emergency
- An asthma attack
- An allergic reaction
- Meningitis
- A febrile convulsion
- First Aid kit
- Recording accidents and incidents
Certificates are valid for three years and are regulated by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB). Delegates also receive a comprehensive Paediatric First Aid manual, which can be used to check and refresh knowledge.
Paediatric First Aid (blended learning): One day of face-to-face training plus 4-6 hours of interactive E-learning – £895 = VAT for groups of up to 12 people (quotes available for larger numbers).
Paediatric First Aid: Two days of face-to-face training – £1,295 + VAT for groups of up to 12 people (quotes available for larger numbers).
Training is held at your workplace on a date and time that suits you.
