Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Training Course
This 3-hour training will provide you with a deeper understanding of the autism spectrum and how to effectively manage children and young people with this condition. You will gain knowledge and skills to identify signs, receive a diagnosis, and assist children and young people with ASC.
Our training programme also looks into communication skills, the structure of teaching programs, and offers practical ideas on how to support challenging behaviour. The goal is to reduce stress levels for children and young people with ASC.
Autistic spectrum condition (ASC) training course content includes:
- Recognising and understanding the definition of ASC
- Developing practical skills in communication, managing change, and reducing obsessions and rituals
- Understanding diagnosis and assessment
- Exploring contemporary approaches to communication, support, and personal development for children and young people with autism
- Implementing strategies for responding to ritualistic/compulsive behavior and addressing challenging behaviors
- Identifying potential means of support and assistance in relation to structure and routine
- Promoting independence and social inclusion of children & young people with ASC
- Exploring innovative therapies and interventions
- Utilising strategies and tools to prevent and manage difficult and challenging behaviour
- Understanding of the causes of behaviour
This engaging and interactive training programme is delivered by experienced Autism Specialist Registered Nurses, who blend real-life experience with evidence-based practice.
A Certificate of Attendance is awarded on completion of the course.
The cost is £450 for groups of up to 16 people, with quotes available for larger numbers.
